Saturday, November 17th marked the 3rd Annual Lionville Lightning Strike Out Hunger Food Drive. Over the past few weeks, players from both LL12U ('06 & '07), LL14U Black-Hendricks & LL16U Select teams, dropped Wegmans grocery bags at neighboring home in an effort to collect food and raise awareness to those in need this holiday season. Individual players from each team collected non-perishable food items and came together as ONE T.E.A.M. to deliver what was collected to the Chester County Food Bank. The collections coming only a few days before their push to distribute food through their network of over 120 food cupboards and social service agencies in our community. 2016, the inaugural drive, then LL12U team brought in just over 1,800 lbs of food. 2017, two teams, then LL12U & LL14U, combined effort helped bring in just shy of 3,000 lbs of food. This year, the four teams, collected 3,939 lbs of food, totaling the CCFB's largest one day collection of the season.
Thank you to everyone that had a part this years food drive. Each year it warms our hearts to see the young ladies in our organization giving back to those that are in need during the Holiday Season. As a coaching staff we could not be anymore proud of these four T.E.A.M.S.
