On December 27, 2016, Lauren Quense, Fordham University softball starting pitcher, stopped by the Lightning 12U Gold's pitchers and catchers practice where she talked to the pitchers and catchers about what is takes to become a successful D-1 college pitcher. Lauren had an excellent junior season in 2016 where she led Fordham in both wins (17) and ERA (3.32) on the way to their fourth straight Atlantic 10 championship and NCAA Regionals appearance. We look forward to rooting on Lauren during her senior season in 2017. Thanks again for stopping by practice!!

On November 9, 2016, Head Coach Chris Allen and Second Base/Pitcher Alexis Allen had the tremendous opportunity to spend a few hours learning hitting from Professional Hitting Coach Matt Lisle at his Hitting Clinic in York, PA. This was one of only two Hitting Clinics held by Coach Lisle in the PA/NJ/NY area. Coach Lisle's hitting philosophy includes swing mechanics and swing movements designed to help increase bat speed, exit speed contact and more power. We look forward to integrating Coach Lisle's hitting program and drills into the Lightning's off-season hitting workouts.
Check out Coach Lisle's websites www.coachlisle.com and www.thehittingvault.com, or follow him on Twitter at @CoachLisle.
